Some of the characteristics and behaviours seen in children who have an emotional disturbance include: Hyperactivity (short attention span, impulsiveness); Aggression or self-injurious behaviour (acting out, fighting) and Withdrawal (not interacting socially with others, excessive fear or anxiety).
